Caring for Your Olive Wood Tableware
So your piece stays beautiful for a lifetime.
Olive wood is an exceptional material – durable, natural, and even more beautiful with age. With the right care, you’ll enjoy it for decades.
Cleaning
Wash your olive wood tableware by hand with lukewarm water and a little mild dish soap. Rinse it well and dry it immediately with a cloth.
Please note:
- No dishwasher – the heat and water can cause the wood to crack
- Do not soak – standing water can damage the wood
- No harsh cleaning products
Oil care
Treat your olive wood regularly with olive oil or linseed oil – ideally every 4–6 weeks or whenever the wood looks dry.
How to do it:
- Put a few drops of oil on a soft cloth
- Rub it into the wood, following the grain
- Leave it to soak in for 15–20 minutes
- Wipe off any excess oil
The oil nourishes the wood, protects it from moisture, and makes the grain shine even more beautifully.
Storage
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated place
- Do not store in direct sunlight or right next to a heater – this can cause the wood to crack
- Store upright or flat on a dry surface
A little tip
Does your cutting board smell of garlic or onions? Rub it with half a lemon, leave it for a short while, then rinse it off. Natural, effective – and completely chemical-free.
